Thin K
The design challenge was to create a table with a modern minimalist design and a table top only 6mm thick.
This impeccably constructed table is available in both fixed and extendable versions.
The table top may be aluminum or a wood veneer, or alternatively may be back-painted glass.
Due to the innovative nature of its construction, Thin-k tables can be altered and manipulated to the dimensions of your choosing, while retaining maximum stability and style.
The Thin-k is highly adaptable, and can be moulded to your specific needs, style, and lifestyle. In the fixed version, the Thin-k table can be used as a sturdy work desk (thanks to a discreetly designed cable outlet), or as a meeting table. With its sleek and ultra modern design, Thin-k is also for ideal for use in the home, looking equally good in the centre of your study or living room.
Thin-K Outdoor
Thin-K is a collection of fixed and extending tables that features an incredibly slim top: just 6 mm. This new outdoor version was designed and created specifically for outdoor use.
Materials such as laminate or wood undergo physical changes, also due to sudden changes in temperature or humidity. This is why aluminium and steel were chosen; two raw materials that are not only unalterable but also provide a product that is 100% recyclable. The aluminium version has an attractive single material and monochrome effect: both the top and the legs have the same epoxy lacquer finish, in a choice of 4 different colours, with no difference in shade and maximum resistance to UV rays. The legs are available with a rectangular or square cross-section.
Think K Longo
The thin-k Longo is elegantly minimalist; it is a cleanly structured shape. Being cleverly designed, this table needs space in a room to be fully appreciated. it is a table for sitting around, touching and admiring, perfectly proportioned.
The challenge was to be able to get a table with a large extension while maintaining strength and flatness impeccable using one infinitesimal thickness. The result of the study and development with Kristalia is the presentation of a long table up to 3 meters.
The table tops in aluminum may also have a veneer of real wood brushed effect; alternatively, the plan can be realized in painted glass, polished or matt.
Thin K Longo Outdoor
Yet Kristalia has gone even further with Thin-K Longo, a new version of this design project, featuring a top that is not only very thin but also considerably long: almost 3 metres. This idea has not arisen, so to speak, at the drawing table, but it is the outcome of a specific request for an extra long table from a Kristalia customer for the Blue Planet Aquarium in Copenhagen. Kristalia technicians are at work, having understood that the extremely long top of the Thin-K table could reach a truly impressive length while maintaining perfect linearity and sturdiness.
Naturally, to achieve this result, the legs and the under-top frame have been strengthened but these details have been concealed and are… a technical secret belonging to Kristalia. As if by magic, the top of the Thin-K Longo table appears to rise into the air: a very thin and perfectly coplanar surface, in two widths (100 cm and 120 cm) and in various lengths, from 220 cm to 295 cm. To perfectly finish tops of these dimensions, an ad hoc procedure has been developed, in which the under-top frame acts as a support during the lacquering stage: this is carried out using epoxy powders that are UV-ray resistant and weatherproof.
The aluminium top, in the fixed version, is available in a choice of coloured lacquers, or in European oak or black oak wood veneer with a brushed finish that highlights its natural grain: a touch of warm appeal and fine craftsmanship for a hi-tech table. Thin-K Longo is almost entirely made of aluminium, with the addition of a few steel components: therefore it is almost completely recyclable. Moreover, thanks to its high quality materials and manufacturing techniques, the lifecycle of Think-K Longo is also long, very long indeed, as for all Kristalia products.
